OUR STORY
We all have a story…a moment where God stepped in and impacted or completely changed our lives.
Fish By The Fire was started thanks to one of those moments.
After an injury began to complicate things at my former workplace, my husband and I began to talk about whether or not I should leave there and work on something that had been in my heart for the past five years: starting a clothing brand that points others towards Christ.
We went back and forth on whether now was the time. One of those conversations took place while shopping in a grocery store and ended with us saying something along the lines of, "if it's meant to be, then God will take care of us."
We walked out of that store to see people all over the parking lot, outside their cars with phones pointed to the sky. We turned around to see a huge double rainbow above the doors that we just walked out of.
Two weeks later, and in a lot of pain from my injury, I prayed at work for an obvious sign on whether or not now was the time to leave there and start working on that idea that I couldn't shake.
After my lunch break, I decided to leave early so I could go home and rest. I talked to my managers and then walked back outside and looked over to see a double rainbow in the sky to my right.
I had been outside for the entirety of my break and it hadn't rained. In the time it took me to walk inside and come back out, God answered my prayer by putting another double rainbow in the sky.
I got in our car, heart pounding, and I knew it was time. I left my job that weekend and began working tirelessly on making this dream and this clothing brand a reality.
About four months later, after many ups and downs, it was finally ready to launch.
Inspired by what had happened and by John 21 where after a miracle Jesus and his disciples sat around a fire together and had a conversation, Fish By The Fire got its name and its purpose became clear:
Help people become missionaries wherever they go by wearing designs that lead to conversations about Christ.
How we plan on doing that comes down to three words: wear, share, repeat.
Wear: Encourage others and spark conversation from the designs you wear.
Share: Share your story about how you've seen God work in your life.
Repeat: Continue to wear conversation starters and share stories with others.
Our hope is that the designs we create will spark comments from others that can become opportunities for you to share your story with them and to have conversations about Christ whether you're at work, standing in line at a grocery store, or in another country.
We want our brand to support you in fishing for men and to be a place where, like a campfire, people can gather around to share stories with one another.
To Him be the glory.
